All these recordings were made on location with analogue tape recorders described as 'transportable'. Although the equipment was the best available at the time, it would be described as somewhat primative by present-day standards and did not have the benefits of noise reduction systems or low noise, high output recording tapes. The power for the heavy cumbertsome equiment was provided by a DC/AC converter driven from large capacity lead/acid batteries. Track 1. At Templecombe Station. Track 2. Beside the line between Binegar and Chilcompton. Track 3. At Evercreech Junction Station. Track 4. Beside the line on the 1 in 50 climb from Evercreech New. Track 5. On board the 'Pines' express between Bath and Evercreech Junction. Track 6. At Evercreech Junction Station.Track 7. In the yard at Evercreech Junction. Track 8. At the entrance to Wndsor Hill Tunnel in 1956. Track 9. At the entrance of Windsor Hill Tunnel in 1964.
